Britians Strongest Woman 2007

Well I'm just recovering after competing in this fun, but tiring competition, which took place in Bexhill On Sea in Sussex.

There were five events in the competition- my favourite event was the 190kg Yoke carry over a ten metre distance.

I placed at 5th place overall which I'm really happy with as it means I've moved up the ranks from last year's competition and also I've surpassed a competitor that I struggled against in 2006. The test of grip strength event- the Rolling Thunder lift, which I'm new to was interesting, I ranked 3rd in this event. The events were;

Log Press for maximum weight

One Hand Rolling Thunder Lift

190kg Yoke carry

Medley; 80kg Farmers each hand for ten metres, then a 65kg Duck Walk for 10 metres

Loading onto a platform; 2 x 50kg Sandbags, then 1 x 65kg Barrel and finally a 80kg Atlas Stone.

Bernie Mckinley, the Scottish Powerlifter won the title of Britians Strongest Woman 2007 and it was well deserved. Agata Wrobel, a former Olympic Weightlifter from Poland, ranked at second place.
